It's time to say 'goodbye' to the Leadpages Legacy Builder—and 'hello' to more flexibility, speed, and functionality.
Read on to see what this change means for you.
By the end of 2021, we will be retiring our legacy ('Standard') Builder once and for all so that we can concentrate on building additional functionality for our Drag & Drop Builder. Because this change will impact some content in user accounts, we'll be rolling out these changes in phases and keeping you updated every step of the way.
Affected assets include:
Our legacy builder was replaced more than four years ago with our Drag & Drop Builder. Since then, our engineering and support teams have maintained both versions, but at increasing costs.
Removing this legacy software allows us to focus our efforts and resources on the best builder Leadpages has to offer—making it easier than ever to bring your marketing ideas to life.

Drag & Drop Builder (New)
Here's what's happening, and when.
2021
On July 8, 2021, you will no longer be able to take the following actions within the Legacy (Standard) Builder:
Any landing page, pop-up, trigger link, or opt-in text that is already published will continue to function and can be edited.
2021
On September 1, 2021, users will no longer be able to edit existing pages, pop-ups, trigger links, or opt-in texts within the Legacy (Standard) Builder.
Any legacy landing page, pop-up, trigger link, or opt-in text that is already published will continue to function.
2021
On this date, the Legacy Builder will be fully retired and all serving of legacy features will end.
Any legacy pages, pop-ups, trigger links, opt-in texts and integrations will no longer function and they will be removed from the application.
Start making the switch today.
Because we will be retiring all Legacy (Standard) Builder functionality by November 1, 2021, we strongly encourage you to transition to our (much easier to use) Drag & Drop Builder sooner rather than later.
What happens to my pages after the legacy builder is retired?
Legacy pages, pop-ups, trigger links, opt-in texts and integrations will no longer function and they will be removed from your account on November 1, 2021.
Can I convert my page from the Standard Builder into the Drag & Drop Builder?
The technologies these builders are created on are separate, which prevents legacy pages from being automatically converted. We recommend you take stock of the legacy pages or pop-ups you need and re-create only the necessary ones using the Drag & Drop Builder.
Pro-tips for recreation:
How do I tell which builder I used?
Pages and pop-ups created using the Standard Builder will have a green icon, while Drag and Drop Builder created pages and pop-ups will have a purple icon.
Legacy
Drag & Drop
Select “Legacy” from the sort by drop-down to quickly view all of your legacy pages or pop-ups.
How do I make new trigger links?
Trigger links were created before automation was mainstream. While we will no longer offer this functionality at Leadpages, many email service providers, CRMs, and automation services like Zapier can be helpful tools if you’d like to send your existing audience a one-click sign-up button to add subscribers to a new list.
What about opt-in texts?
Similar to trigger links, opt-in texts will no longer be offered once they are retired. We’d recommend looking into other services that provide unique short codes or full length numbers if opt-in texts are integral to your business.
As of June 1, 2021, major telecom providers no longer support shared short codes.
This shift by telecom is likely related to the increasing demand by their customers to help prevent spam as short codes tend to be the most common offender.
We know this change is likely inconvenient for you in the short term. However, in the long run, you'll benefit from more features, flexibility, and continuous improvements that the legacy builder simply can't provide!
